Search and storage of the baggage
Southwind Airlines is not responsible for the loss of personal belongings that have been forgotten at the airport or on board the aircraft. Items forgotten by passengers on board the aircraft are delivered to the Lost and Found Unit of that airport. Contact the relevant "Lost and Found" department at the airport of arrival to inquire about the item.
You can get information about the processes by visiting the website of the relevant airport for your belongings forgotten in other parts of the airport.
As Southwind Airlines, we take great care to ensure that your baggage reaches your destination safely, completely and without any damage. However, as in every sector, undesirable situations (weather conditions, technical failures, human errors, etc.) can sometimes occur in aviation.
If you have experienced any baggage irregularity such as damage, delay or loss during a Southwind Airlines flight, please go immediately to the Lost and Found Office at the airport and fill out a Property Irregularity Report (PIR). Your requests will not be accepted without a PIR report.

Reports of damage or loss must be reported immediately at the airport of your destination. In case of damage, it must be made in writing to the airline within seven (7) days from the date of delivery of the baggage and within twenty-one (21) days after delivery in case of delayed baggage.
In order to respond to your complaints faster, you are required to send us photocopies (or originals) of your boarding pass, baggage tag and other necessary documents along with your P.I.R. report via e-mail.
Passengers who will keep valuable, fragile and important items in their baggage are advised to take out insurance to cover the value of their baggage.
It is the responsibility of you, our valued passengers, to properly store and pack the items in your baggage. Take care not to carry items that are not properly stored, perishable or fragile, breakable items in your baggage. Southwind Airlines will not be responsible for any damages or shortages in case of such disruptions.
Breakable and perishable items, electronic devices, musical instruments, medicines, valuables (money, jewelry, commercial and valuable documents, passports and ID cards, etc.), and dangerous goods (firearms, bullets, chemical substances, etc.) cannot be kept in the baggage.
The carrier is not responsible for any loss or damage to such items. Southwind Airlines is also not responsible for items soiled, damaged or lost in damaged baggage.
Furthermore, Southwind Airlines cannot be held responsible for the loss or damage of straps, belts, and other protruding parts of the baggage, as well as losses from inadequately packed baggage.
Passengers whose baggage is not found should apply to the Station Lost Property Offices of the relevant ground handling company without leaving the arrival hall on the same day with their boarding pass, baggage tag and identity card (ID card, passport) and file a Property Irregularity Report (PIR).
In the event that checked baggage is found, the carrier shall notify the baggage owner as soon as possible and ensure that the baggage is delivered to the airport/point specified by the owner and, upon request of the person concerned, to the address specified by the person concerned without any additional charge.
For the first 5 days, the investigation of lost baggage is the responsibility of the Station Lost Property Offices.
For baggage not found within the first five days, please apply to Southwind Airlines Lost Baggage Department with the following documents:
- Property Irregularity Report (PIR report filed at the airport where you failed to receive your baggage);
- Your baggage tags documenting the weight of your baggage;
- Receipt if excess baggage fee has been paid;
- Airplane boarding pass;
- Identity card.
The maximum investigation period for Lost Baggage is two (2) months. For the baggage that cannot be found within this period, Southwind Airlines pays compensation to the passenger in accordance with the legislation.
Southwind Airlines does not accept any responsibility for passengers who cannot present a baggage tag in their name.

For damaged baggage, please apply to Southwind Airlines Lost Baggage Department with the following documents:
- Damaged Baggage Report, (The report you made before leaving the airport where your baggage was damaged);
- Your boarding pass;
- The label of your damaged baggage;
- If your baggage can be repaired, a repair invoice from an authorized repair shop;
- If your baggage cannot be repaired, a signed and stamped document from the manufacturer or an authorized repairer confirming that the damaged baggage cannot be repaired, including the age and value of the damaged baggage;
- Photos of your damaged baggage.
In case of damage, a written application must be made to the airline within seven (7) days from the delivery date of the baggage.

Passengers who receive their baggage late due to a problem must make a written application to the airline via e-mail within 21 days from the date they receive their baggage.
Our passengers who receive their baggage late will be evaluated for payment according to the legislation for their daily urgent needs only if they complete the following documents for the date range in which their baggage did not arrive during their vacation:
- Property Irregularity Report (PIR report filed at the airport where you failed to collect your baggage);
- Your boarding pass;
- Your baggage tags that document the weight of your baggage;
- Invoices of expenses made for urgent needs (Bank card slips are not accepted).
Breakable and perishable items, electronic devices, musical instruments, medicines, valuables (money, jewelry, commercial and valuable documents, passports and ID cards, etc.), dangerous goods (firearms, bullets, chemical substances, etc.) cannot be kept in the baggage.
The carrier cannot be held responsible for the loss or damage of such items. Our company does not pay for alcoholic beverages and cigarettes.
