Baggage rules

It is strictly forbidden for our guests to carry animal products in their hand baggage and baggage within the scope of the FMD Virus measures that emerged in the territory of the Russian Federation.


For weighing and tagging with either «Cabin Baggage» or «Checked Baggage» at the check-in counter every passenger is obliged to present tag all baggage:

  • cabin baggage;
  • backpack;
  • baby stroller.

If a passenger refuses to pay for excess baggage in the amount and on the conditions, stipulated by the passenger air carriage agreement, Southwind Airlines will be entitled to deny boarding of such passenger.

On certain routes and for some individual tariffs, there may be exceptions to the standard free baggage allowance conditions. A passenger will be notified of them when booking the transportation.

The free baggage allowance and free cabin baggage allowance are provided to:

  • adult passengers;
  • children from 2 to 12 y.o.;
  • children up to 2 y.o. with a separate seat.

For children under 2 y.o without a separate seat, only the following free baggage allowance is provided:

  • stroller or pushchair.

The airline applies a baggage concept based on the number of baggage pieces. According to this concept, each piece of baggage is weighed separately, and carried baggage is checked-in for each passenger. In case of passengers traveling together, it is allowed to combine free baggage allowances, provided that each piece of baggage does not exceed the limits established by the airline.


The free baggage allowance does not apply to:

  • passenger's belongings, regardless of their name and purpose, the dimensions of which in the packed form exceed 203 cm (the total size of the three dimensions of each piece of baggage). Such baggage is considered as oversized baggage;
  • cabin baggage, weight and dimensions by the sum of three dimensions and each dimension in particular exceed the rate established by the tariff;
  • passenger's belongings, regardless of their name and purpose, weighing more than 30 kg but less than 50 kg. Such baggage is. Baggage of greater weight is handled and transported as cargo.

Transportation of the above specified baggage is paid for in accordance with the published baggage rates.
